CARE SHOW LONDON 2009 – testimonials from visitors, exhibitors and speakers

We are a young company with a limited budget but the business we have gained has far out-weighted the cost. The whole process has been easy to organise and by being at the show we have met owner operators and key decision makers who, in spite of the recession, have opened so many doors for us. We will definitely do both the Birmingham and Bournemouth Care Shows. Chris Johnson, DECS |

We were rushed off our feet on the first day. We’ve taken good quality leads which we are confident will convert into business. We’ve seen a lot of existing customers which is important to us, as well as new business contacts. We are exhibiting at the
Care Show Birmingham too.
Kate Hayter, Sales Manager, Renray Healthcare
We have excellent quality leads to follow up from a mix of care home groups and individual care homes. We’ve been able to spend quality time with new business leads and are pleased with our presence at the event.
Ellen Brown, Key Account Manager, Apetito

VISITOR
It is really important that care organisations should integrate with the operators and the Care Show provides this opportunity.
Anna Raja, Manager, St Luke’s Lodge
It is the first time I’ve been to the show and I could have done with attending on both days. I have already rung through to our head chef and told him he must see the Nutrition Kitchen! I will definitely be at the next show.
Joan Auton, Regional Manager, Guardian Care
This show hits the nail on the head in covering vital strategic issues that impact directly on the care home sector - issues that make your business succeed. There were some excellent topical seminars taking place covering the Government Green Paper and the Care Quality Commission. We have made a strategic decision to open a dementia unit within our homes and this show has provided important fundamental groundwork in setting this up. It enables you to meet key people and find out about centres of excellence.
I’ve come down from Jersey and been very impressed with what I’ve seen…I’ve found the seminars and panel debates good for establishing contacts
Andrew Pemberton, Finance Director, Parish of St Helier Local Authority
With changes in legislation, the free seminars at the Care Show are an excellent way of keeping up-to-date as this is something that affects us all. The show is a great networking opportunity.
Ann McCann, Owner, Redholme Memory Care Home
The Care Show is great for picking up new innovations from exhibitors and sharing best practice with other care homes.
Joy Hunter, General Manager, Argyle Care Group (England & North Wales)
Very impressive. We are still finding our way around but so far I’ve seen a lot of interesting stands.

SPEAKER
The public debate on the future of care for older people is now catching fire. Wherever we work in social care, as experts, we must all pass on our knowledge to the wider population to inform and engage people about the value of care. It is critical they understand that it’s about enhancing quality of life and wellbeing for those with any disability and of any age. Only then can the public make informed choices about social care’s worth. The Care Show is an excellent platform for having these discussions.
Annie Stevenson, Head of Older People’s Services, the Social Care Institute for Excellence

“I wanted to get a feel of what the Bournemouth Show was like. We exhibited at the Care Show in Birmingham last year but chose not to exhibit here today. Having seen for myself I think next year I will be looking to exhibit in Bournemouth.”

“First visit to the Care Show, have come for the seminars. I have been particularly interested in my home life seminar and the importance of hydration demonstration in the NACC kitchen. I found them very interesting and informative as it will directly impact on the quality of care in the homes. I would definitely recommend people to visit the care show, as you will leave with lots of new ideas.”
