After an international career in several countries stretching over 25 years Sonja came to live (retire) in the UK in the late 1990’s. Intrigued over the difference in government approach to preventative measures in elderly care in Scandinavia compared to that of UK, Sonja founded NCS, to spread the ‘gospel’ of the cost-beneficial solutions to both users and health care providers.
Cost-Effective Turning Solutions in Bed
The participants in this seminar/workshop will get a theoretical and practical understanding of different safe ways of turning a service user in bed based on a turning system that utilises specially designed bed linen and sometimes a hoist as an aid to achieve the turning motion, instead of slide sheet that must be removed. The service user’s activity level ranges from completely passive to partially active and according to risk assessment of the service user’s ability the most suitable method of turning is chosen.
