For the beach design: With the ages of the residents in mind, we researched and through illustration created nostalgic memory pieces, such as 1950s-style candy floss, lollipops, rock sweets, ice cream, fish and chips signage with beach huts, sun umbrellas, beach balls, buckets and spades and deckchairs set on a long stretch of sandy beach. Overlooking a light blue sea with sailboats, houses, and mountains in the distance. We included a detailed Portsmouth Pier illustration to set the scene.
Admiral Jellicoe House is situated in Portsmouth, so it was crucial to feature Portsmouth Pier as a landmark in the design.
We personalised the beach design by creating a sign in the mural to say,
"Admiral Jellicoe Beach".
