David King

Co-Founder, Resolve Care
David King is one of the 2 co-founders of Resolve Care and is the Registered Manager of the Resolve service at Low House. Resolve operates two homes both of which are rated “Outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission. David is a Mental Health Nurse and has over 20 years’ experience working for Local Authorities and the NHS. David’s work in secure hospitals, prisons and the community, working with people with Learning Disabilities who had offended, led to his drive to find a way to provide means for such people to lead meaningful lives in a protected, supportive environment. Like Anne Graham, David has a keen interest in attachment theories and the negative effect of the absence of parental attachment in childhood. David contributed to the development of the unique model of care operated by Resolve, and the academic paper underpinning the approach which was published in the Journal of Intellectual Disabilities and Offending Behaviour in 2016. David works in the services every day and is committed to improving the standard of support at Resolve through a range of innovative initiatives. David is working in partnership with Skills for Care and other care providers to improve the standards of care across the sector, through the North East Executive Care Network.
