Kate joined SCIE in 2018 and supports SCIE’s Co-production Network, National Co-production Week, the production of good practice materials about inclusion and co-production and SCIE’s offer around co-production training and consultancy. Before this she set up a national peer support programme at Disability Rights UK, and project managed a pioneering Back to Work service at The Stroke Association. She worked for the Disabled People’s User-led Organisaton ADKC (Action Disability Kensington & Chelsea) for 6 years in a variety of policy and campaigning roles, bringing together local disabled people and policy makers within Kensington & Chelsea Council to debate disability related issues and work strategically to find solutions. Kate has 15 years experience as a trainer and workshop facilitator. She has worked with diverse groups of people including: local people who use services, carers, voluntary sector and local authority staff including Heads of Delivery, Commissioning and Planning Officers to support them to understand co-production and disability related issues. She has worked extensively to capacity build and develop voluntary sector organisations. Kate has experience of using mental health services.
