Lorraine George

Childcare Development Worker, Torbay Council
Lorraine George has worked in early years for twenty years and currently works as a Childcare Development Worker based in the Early Years Advisory Team for Torbay L.A. In 2017 she was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to research co-located care in the U.S. (childcare & education based in an elder care facility). Since her return she has been supported by Torbay in developing an early years intergenerational approach and as a consequence there are now fifteen care homes engaging in early years visits, with an intergenerational room in one care home that Childminders work from on a daily basis, opening in September 2019. She is also an online tutor for the International Certificate in Intergenerational Learning (ICIL).
