Safe spaces: building better cultures and psychologically safe workplaces

09 Oct 2025
People, Workforce & Wellbeing Theatre

Workplace incivility is more than just rudeness — it's the subtle, often unspoken behaviours that undermine trust, morale, and team cohesion. Left unaddressed, it contributes to increased stress, reduced productivity, high staff turnover, and compromised care or service delivery.

This session aims to give an insight to teams and leaders to equip them with the tools to recognise, respond to, and reduce incivility at its roots. Grounded in real-world examples and research-based strategies, it explores the “Civility Gap” — the space between passive tolerance and active accountability — and how closing that gap transforms workplace culture.

  • Attendees will learn how to:
  • Identify the signs and impacts of workplace incivility
  • Understand the cost of unchecked disrespect on teams and outcomes
  • Navigate difficult conversations with clarity and confidence
  • Promote everyday behaviours that foster psychological safety, respect, and trust
  • Build a culture where every voice is heard, and every person is valued
