Practical use of AI in care

09 Oct 2025
Technology Theatre

This presentation explores how Abbotsford Care uses AI, especially large language models as a creative and communication tool to support growth, leadership, and connection across our care services. We share real-life examples of how AI enhances through initiatives, staff reflection, and external engagement. The session invites participants to reflect on their own practice through live prompting workshops. We also highlight emerging innovations but always keeping ethics, compassion, and collaboration at the heart of our digital journey.

  • By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
  • •Understand how AI tools are used creatively in care settings
  • •Describe practical applications of AI for communication, engagement, and wellbeing
  • •Reflect on the role of prompting in generating useful, human-centred outputs
  • •Explore new ideas for using AI in their own teams or services
  • •Identify ethical considerations when introducing AI into care environments
