Building a research active homecare service: culture, capability and confidence
Research has the potential to transform social care, yet many care providers often don’t recognise the important role they can play in generating evidence, influencing policy, and improving outcomes for the people they support.
In this session, Dr Qureshi, Head of Compliance at Comfort Care Services and NIHR Research Champion, will share the organisation’s journey to becoming a Research-Ready homecare provider in partnership with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).
Drawing on practical experience across services supporting vulnerable adults in partnership with 34 local authorities, this session will explore how a culture of research was developed, the challenges encountered, and the steps taken to build organisational capability and confidence. Attendees will gain practical insights into engaging staff, meeting research requirements, and embedding research into everyday practice, leaving with the knowledge and inspiration to begin their own research journey.
