TESSA Tools: Ethical AI Governance and Consultancy for Adult Social Care
CQC’s published principles for providers cover human oversight, staff training, security, governance, Data Protection Impact Assessments and clear accountability.
TESSA Tools helps adult social care providers understand how AI is being used across their service and put appropriate governance around it.
Consultancy support can include:
- a review of current AI use
- acceptable-use policies and staff guidance
- support with DPIAs
- questions for AI suppliers
- quality reviews of AI-assisted records
- briefings for managers on oversight and escalation
We test AI tools directly and draw on current regulatory guidance, social care research and frontline practice. Each engagement has agreed outputs, which may include a written review, action plan, policy pack or leadership briefing.
TESSA Tools is system agnostic. We work with the AI your organisation already uses and assess it against your practice, governance and data protection requirements. Where staff use Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, they do not need the paid Copilot add-on for Word to follow our approach.
The work is led by Nadia Hajat, an independent social worker and Professional Doctorate researcher examining AI literacy and accountability in practice.
Staff training and structured learning, with certificates for your training matrix, are available separately through TESSA Training.
