Staff using AI in social care need to know what information can be entered, how AI-assisted records must be checked, where professional judgement remains central and when concerns must be escalated.

CQC’s published expectations for providers using AI cover staff training, human oversight, security, governance, Data Protection Impact Assessments and accountability. TESSA Training turns these expectations into structured learning for staff, registered managers and senior leaders.

Seven sequential modules cover:

  • AI Foundations for Social Care
  • Ethics, Bias and Data Protection
  • Prompt Engineering with VERA:H
  • AI in Daily Practice
  • Governance, Quality and Practice Leadership
  • Anti-Oppressive AI Practice
  • Safeguarding with AI

All seven modules are certified by IQN and provide 8.5 CPD hours in total. Each module ends with a knowledge check, with a pass mark of 70% before the learner moves to the next module.

Organisational access gives managers a dashboard showing progress, quiz scores and completion. Learners who complete all seven modules can download a named and dated CPD certificate, providing evidence for supervision, CPD records and the training matrix.

A dedicated governance module supports managers and senior leaders with quality assurance, oversight and escalation.

TESSA Training is system agnostic, so staff can learn with the AI approved by their organisation. Exercises can be completed using Copilot Chat included in eligible Microsoft 365 work accounts; the paid Word add-on is not required.

The programme is built and delivered by Nadia Hajat, an independent social worker and Professional Doctorate researcher examining AI literacy and accountability in practice.

At Care Show Birmingham, visit stand IN03 to discuss organisational access, staff onboarding or leadership training. Ask for a training proposal based on your workforce and governance needs.
