Keynote session: The Four Pillars for Happier, Healthier Residents

Care Show attendees can hear from Thomas Tredinnick, CEO and Co-Founder of Ally Cares, on 7 October at 13:10 in the Tech & Innovation Theatre.

In his session, Tom will explore the four foundations that underpin healthier life in care homes: nutrition, movement, social connection and recovery. Drawing on evidence and experience from care homes using Ally, he will look at why these four areas need to be considered together and how better understanding of residents’ recovery can influence their health, wellbeing and quality of life.

The session will share examples of how protecting recovery and creating more stable bedroom environments can have an impact beyond the night itself, from reducing bedroom falls and unnecessary disturbance to supporting appetite, participation in activities and overall resident stability.

Tom will also explore the emerging evidence around the relationship between these four foundations and longevity, and what this could mean for how providers think about creating environments that help residents live healthier, happier and longer lives.
