When a visit needs urgent or ad-hoc cover, Nanum searches the provider's own team first. Only if no internal option is available, and only if the provider has switched Nanum Mode on, does it look across the network of other consenting providers, matching on proximity, continuity and the skills and training the visit requires.

Three design decisions shape how it works.

Identities stay private until approval. A provider reviewing options does not see the carer's name, their employer, or their precise location. The receiving provider's client details are not revealed to the carer until the request has been approved on both sides.

Both sides approve. The requesting provider selects from the options Nanum recommends. The carer's own provider reviews and approves before anything is confirmed. The platform recommends; people decide.

Pay is protected. A carer's rate with their home provider is always protected. Nanum Mode is a capacity-sharing arrangement between providers, not a mechanism for competing on carer pay.

Nanum Mode is entirely optional and off by default. Providers who want the platform purely for their own rostering, care records, eMAR, care planning and invoicing can use it without ever enabling cross-provider cover.
