Buddy punching and rounded-up timesheets aren't a training problem, they're a measurement problem. Businesses that switch to facial recognition typically see a 6% reduction in their wage bill - the gap between what was clocked and what was actually worked.
Clocking in with a face is the fastest method and the hardest to cheat. It is also special category data under UK GDPR, and it needs handling properly.
Alpaka is built so that the biometric template and the person's identity are never held in the same place.
The recognition service holds the template and returns a reference. Alpaka holds the reference against the employee. The reference means nothing on its own - if Alpaka's database were ever exposed, there would be no biometric data in it to expose.
Face is never the only option. PIN entry and QR badge work on the same device, so nobody has to use facial recognition to get paid.
