Clair has a professional background in nursing but has worked in regulation of health and social care since 2002, starting as an inspector, and then as an enforcement inspector where she qualified advanced investigative practitioner. When CQC was formed Clair become an inspection manager. Later as national enforcement oversight manager, she developed CQC’s criminal enforcement capabilities. Clair worked on the Closed Culture project, leading on surveillance, Now as a senior specialist Clair is leading the project on developing the Commissions understanding of modern slavery and unethical international recruitment within health and social care, developing our regulatory policy position.
