I have been in they care field since 1989 , where i was a dom carer in Powys, then became a Residential care worker then progressed to Deputy and then Registered Manager since 1995 in a number of care setting In the past 6 years I have completed 2 sensory Garden , the recent one was completed at Chirk Court Where I designed , fund raised and worked with a group of staff to complete the task , looking at the 5 senses , I find it rewarding that the resident in Chirk Court have input in te garden where they can go out and plant food and watch it grow and also eat , we have watched a bare canvass turn it to a mazing Sensory garden where families and residents can go and relax and think . What I have found amazing is that thinks can be done to a large area on a small amount of money , we have achieved the sensory garden on 4,000 plus the help of keep wales tidy where I was successfully in getting a grant of 5,000 for raised garden areas a poly tunnel and plants , this along side hard work we have a achieved what we set out to achieve 12months ago
