Kate Meacock
Campaigner and Lead for Lived Experience,
Rights for Residents
Rights for Residents is a grass route campaign seeking to ensure that the human rights of those in care homes are protected. The campaign supports those in care and those with loved ones in care whilst pursing the legal right, for all, to a care supporter (Gloria's Law). Kate is a core member of the campaign and joined when it started up in August 2020. At the time she was unable to see her late mother who had been in a care home for over seven years and had advanced dementia and was caring for her late father who was living independently at home
