Kathryn Glass joined the NHS in 1992, and worked across a variety of healthcare services throughout her 31-year career. Her skills led her to join the Patient Experience service and she went on to lead a successful NHS veteran awareness programme within her organisation, which was adopted across the Northwest by other NHS providers. In January 2020, Kathryn presented the programme at the National Leadership Forum event in London and was awarded ‘Highly Commended’ accolade by the Cabinet Office in recognition of her work. Retiring from the NHS as Head of Patient Experience & Engagement, she commenced as National Programme Lead for the Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) in May 2023. Her interests in health and social care collaboration, improving services and affording recognition of services for veterans, raising awareness of the military community, and developing support and signposting for staff in care homes, inform her leadership in this role. Kathryn brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and skills to the VFF, along with drive and focus, to ensure that individuals have a voice and are kept at the heart of all decisions made.
