A nurse by profession, I have spent many years working in, setting up, and managing services in the community for autistic people and people with a learning disability. I have worked for CQC for 10 years - initially as an inspector, then inspection manager and currently as a senior specialist for autistic people and people with a learning disability. I have a specific interest in health inequalities and how effective and collaborative regulation can improve the experiences and outcomes of autistic people and people with a learning disability. Furthermore, I am interested in how careful planning and design can support people to live lives free from unnecessary restrictions and limitations whilst maximising opportunities for successful and meaningful lives.
