Richard Bates has over 17 years of experience in the construction industry. In 2017, Richard established Horizon Construction London before leading the acquisition of sister company Horizon Construction (East Anglia) in 2025, bringing the two businesses together under Horizon Construction, with a combined annual turnover of £70m. Richard has extensive experience delivering complex care and later living projects, working closely with care providers, developers, and specialist consultants to deliver high-quality environments that meet the needs of residents, staff and operators. His wider project experience spans student accommodation, automotive showrooms, high-end residential, hospitality and leisure, alongside overseeing commercial teams for framework agreements with values of up to £100m.
